Security/Protection Systems for Homeowners

Security Alarm System

Security Protection and Home Automation Services are often discussed subjects with homeowners. Protecting and safeguarding the largest investment in most people’s lives encompasses many forms. Insurance, for one, does exactly this; however, this cost protects the lender from loss, not the homeowner’s physical well-being or its inhabitants and pets. Below are a couple helpful tips for the consumer on how to best ensure safety and protection for their home.

There are many smart-home technologies that are becoming more popular on the market. These allows the homeowner to remotely manage their home safety features, such as locks, lights, or utilities from any smart phone, tablet, or laptop, from anywhere in the world.

Fire protection and medical alert devises are now also quite common in homes and in new home construction. Pre-wired smoke detectors are merely “sounders;” as the devices do not notify the fire departments or any other emergency responders. If a smoke event occurs, regardless of where in the home, all the alarms scream a loud sound. But how is the homeowner or its occupants notified if not on the premise? And what happens to the home’s utility systems, of which many have multiple units running and thus fueling a potential fire? A modern, state-of-the-art security system not only warns its owners and inhabitants against invasion or of some breach on the entire perimeter of the structure, but the right system also shuts down utilities in the house if fire is detected. Additionally, a monitoring agent is on the phone with you immediately no matter where you are in the world, communicating with you that an event has occurred.

A monitored system can be used for medical emergencies as well. According to AARP, for instance, eighty percent of all medical alerts originate in the home. Having a live 24/7 monitoring service, easily reached with a push of a button, saves time, and perhaps lives.
